In the multimedia project 'I exist', the artist explores the profound isolation of growing up as a lesbian, particularly throughout adolescence, in a heteronormative culture obsessed with straight relationships. Through a poignant combination of collage and installation, the work addresses the painful feeling that one's personal experiences are less meaningful or significant in comparison to their heterosexual counterparts. The barren, ghostly imagery emphasises themes of invisibility and loneliness within mainstream society. The work consists of collage and photography.
